Iowa FNAWS is pleased to offer, for the FIRST TIME EVER, the South Dakota Bighorn permit. This tag is valid for any open unit in South Dakota, including Elk mountain unit, Hell Canyon, Custer State Park, Rapid City and Deadwood, and where permitted on private land with the landowner’s approval. Of note, although there is a healthy herd of Bighorns in Custer State Park, there has never been a non-resident who has harvested a ram in the park. Season runs from September 1st thru December 31st, 2026, and can be hunted with rifle, archery or muzzleloader. Although South Dakota Game Fish and Parks personnel will not be able to accompany the auction winner, they will be more than happy to provide and share whatever information they have as well as photos of trophy rams. A 5% buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid price of this special permit (unless prohibited by state statute), of which the proceeds will be dedicated to Iowa FNAWS’ various conservation funding. If the winner refuses to pay the required premium, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder for his/her bid price
